The Brotherhood💙😎 is a Men's Mental Health support group founded in March 2021 by the founder Kelvin Farmer & co-founder Mikey Martin.
the mission was to raise awareness about men's mental health and offering help anyway possible, we started by using a social media platform known as WhatsApp as 24/7 chat room for lads who needed to speak to someone anytime of the day, offering advice, motional support, inspiration and a ear for listening, without judging them and having a drama free group.
we used TIKTOK as a way of spreading awareness of men's mental health and what we can do for men who needed a safe environment to speak, over the duration of 2021 to 2022 we also included a competition to the lads in the group known as king of the week and ambassador of the month with the aim of showing them how well they are doing and how amazing it is that they are talking about themselves and breaking the stigma.
in 2023 we advanced more into social media platforms, our Co-founder Mikey opened accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, X, continuing our mission in spreading awareness about men's mental health, and our Founder Kelvin started hosting charitable events raising money for multiple Charites and working with the local community.
during 2023 Kelvin and Mikey recruited Gareth Blackburn in as a Director to take charge of the mental health wellbeing of the lads who needed help or advice.
in 2024 a meeting took place with the directors with an idea about applying to company house for a CIC a non-for-profit charity status and with this changing the name to brotherhood in arms, in 2025 we was awarded the status and with this the Directors came together to bring new ideas, new events and recruit staff.
the ultimate goal for the directors is to build a 24/7 group chat room and offer a judge free, safe space for people to talk about their worries or just a safe place where men know they're not alone, where they can go for advice, have someone to listen to them, but also have some positivity in their life with friendly banter, laughs, meetings, competitions, we built a link room for men who needed work, places to live, emergency contact details, and if they owned a business they could share that to, Gareth was appointed as director of welfare with his knowledge and qualification in mental health, Mikey was appointed as Director of social media using is knowledge of technology and Kelvin would oversee events, building relationships with the community, and helping in the mental health section too.
In January 2024 Kelvin's aim was to raise money for men's mental health and other charities in need of help.
To start off this mission he ran a livestream leg wax which he raised £100 for men's mental health, which then was donated to MANHEALTH.
Following on with his mission a car wash event was made in May of 2024 and brought in £97 which was then donated to Movember and Brothers in Arms Scotland, plus a little donation was made to St Michaels church working with the local community.
In August a local charity football tournament was launched and hosted by Brotherhood In Arms, for multiple football teams to play for different charities of there choosing. They raised £390 in total and was spilt between MIND, Teens In Crisis, Men's Mental Health and Increase The Peace.
In September our Director of social media Mikey launched his first event which was a livestream leg wax which he raised £280, this was spilt between Increase The Peace, Men's Mental Health and Macmillan charity.
The last event of 2024 was a Christmas charity raffle set up by our chairman Kelvin and at the time Event organiser Kayleigh farmer, with the goal the same as the football a yearly event, with this he raised £400 with the mission to help Oakwood Primary school with children who suffer with neurological symptoms, the money was spilt between them and Increase The Peace along with Men's Mental Health.
In total £669 was raised for Men's Mental Health in 2024
Another goal of Kelvin's was to design clothing to spread the awareness of men's mental health. With this idea in mind he launched the Brotherhood In Arms clothing brand. With this he has manged to raise money though selling the clothes, at the start £50 was raised though commission from the sales and the money was donated to Brothers In Arms Scotland and Manhealth charity. At the end of 2024 a total of £110 was raised through clothing sales.
All in all across the year of 2024 a total of £1,267 has been raised.
The Mission for 2025 is to launch more events, spread the awareness of men's mental health and work within the communities building relationships, and working with other men's mental health support groups to unite under one main course breaking the stigma.

Breaking the stigma and reaching out to all the lads out there, there is a safe place to go, without judgement.
