The Brotherhood💙😎 is a Men's Mental Health support group founded in March 2021 by the founder Kelvin Farmer who was struggling with his mental health and his ADHD life.
so his mission was to raise awareness about men's mental health and offering help anyway possible, he started by using a social media platform known as WhatsApp as 24/7 chat room for lads who needed to speak to someone anytime of the day, offering advice, motional support, inspiration and a ear for listening, without judging them and having a drama free group.
he used TIKTOK as a way of spreading awareness of men's mental health and what we can do for men who needed a safe environment to speak, over the duration of 2021 to 2022 he also included a competition to the lads in the group known as king of the week and ambassador of the month with the aim of showing them how well they are doing and how amazing it is that they are talking about themselves and breaking the stigma.
in 2022 he advanced more into social media platforms, he opened accounts on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, X, continuing our mission in spreading awareness about men's mental health, and started hosting charitable events raising money for multiple Charites and working with the local community.
during 2024 Kelvin recruited Gareth Blackburn in as a Director of Welfare due to his amazing work throughout the duration of 2022 helping lads in the main chat offering advice and talking to them, Gareth role was to take charge of the mental health wellbeing of the lads who needed help or advice and now in 2026 he has been promoted to Executive Chairman overseeing the Welfare team due to his contribution to breaking the stigma in Men's Mental Health.
in 2024 a meeting took place with kelvin and Gareth with an idea about applying to company house for a CIC a non-for-profit charity status and with this changing the name to brotherhood in arms, in 2025 after along battle proving that this idea they had will help men talk they were awarded the status and with this both Directors became Founder & Co-founder of the company and together coming up with new ideas, new events and recruit staff.
the ultimate goal for the directors is to build a 24/7 group chat room and offer a judge free, safe space for people to talk about their worries or just a safe place where men know they're not alone, where they can go for advice, have someone to listen to them, but also have some positivity in their life with friendly banter, laughs, meetings, competitions, we built a link room for men who needed work, places to live, emergency contact details, and if they owned a business they could share that to.
In January 2024 Kelvin's aim was to raise money for men's mental health and other charities in need of help.
To start off this mission he ran a livestream leg wax which he raised £100 for men's mental health, which then was donated to MANHEALTH.
Following on with his mission a car wash event was made in May of 2024 and brought in £97 which was then donated to Movember and Brothers in Arms Scotland, plus a little donation was made to St Michaels church working with the local community.
In August a local charity football tournament was launched and hosted by Brotherhood In Arms, for multiple football teams to play for different charities of there choosing. They raised £390 in total and was spilt between MIND, Teens In Crisis, Men's Mental Health and Increase The Peace.
The last event of 2024 was a Christmas charity raffle set up by our chairman Kelvin and at the time Event organiser Kayleigh farmer, with the goal the same as the football a yearly event, with this he raised £400 with the mission to help Oakwood Primary school with children who suffer with neurological symptoms, the money was spilt between them and Increase The Peace along with Men's Mental Health.
In total £669 was raised for Men's Mental Health in 2024
in 2025
Brotherhood in arms continued there work with events raising awareness and money to Men's mental health.
Charity Football Event season 2 kicked off with Co-host Montpellier fc but this time having local small businesses join them in holding stall markets for the general public as well as local businesses sponsoring the event and providing food and drinks on the day they raised sub total £500 which was donated to Teens in crisis, MIND and Brotherhood in arms in their mission to build projects for lads.
and hosted a Christmas Charity raffle event at Montpellier fc clubhouse to bring fun, joy to the community with help from Apple blossom creatives who brought along Santa for the kids to enjoy, they raised £161 to be donated to Oakwood primary school for there ongoing support in helping kids with neurodiversity systems buying sensory equipment for them and brotherhood in arms future projects.
From 2024 to the end of 2025 they raised total of £1,928
Another goal of Kelvin's was to design clothing to spread the awareness of men's mental health. With this idea in mind he launched the Brotherhood In Arms clothing brand. With this he has manged to raise money though selling the clothes, at the start £50 was raised though commission from the sales and the money was donated to Brothers In Arms Scotland and Manhealth charity. At the end of 2024 a total of £110 was raised through clothing sales.
